I have a 2 months old and he has thrush
2 month old with thrush what can i do or get over the counter to make it go away. He's very irritated.

Oral thrush in infants or newborn is caused by
1. Candidial yeast infection during vaginal delivery.
2. Improper hygiene from diaper rash
3. Milk coated debris on the tongue of the infant.
4..Also might indicate immunocompromised immune system.

please take your baby to a pediatrician asap as he would advise antifungal gel or liquid such as flucanazole (Diflucan) or Nystatin cream.
Note: these medicines to be taken only after consulting pediatrician

-wipe or clean the baby's tongue with soft white cotton cloth.
-make sure when you are breastfeeding, wipe your nipple areas properly.
-avoid using any sweetener thumb sucker toys.
-it takes at least 10 to 14 days to subside the symptoms of thrush.
