There are no additional side effects of Lasik surgery after 40 yrs. Yes you might require reading glasses after Lasik surgery after 40 or one can go for monovision treatment in Lasik where one eye is corrected for distant vision and other eye for near vision. This helps decrease our dependency on reading glasses but for long term reading and computer work reading glasses may be necessary. PRK after Lasik is not advisable.
