Severe pain is a symptom which is sufficient enough to warrant immediate treatment. Please don't wait for any lump to form in that area. The clinical condition of the tooth needs to be evaluated by a proper examination and the X-ray will determine the for the plan of action. Delaying the treatment can aggravate the symptoms further. Medications will also provide temporary symptomatic relief only and the symptoms are bound to reappear again.

Please visit your nearby dentist to get the tooth treated. The dentist would either do root canal treatment or extraction whichever works best. Medication is not the permanent solution, treatment is.
