Gall stones can lead to many serious problems like obstructive jaundice, acute pancreatitis etc. but the basic disease is in the gall bladder where these stones form. So the Surgical option has always been to remove the gall bladder with its contents including stones in it since the time of only open surgery till date. If clinically indicated, and symptomatic, that is the only option, at present mostly laparoscopically . You may not agree and may not sign a consent for surgery. Your surgeon will respect it. But, removing only stones from gall bladder as felt just and asked by some patients is not an acceptable option.

Hi if this is asymptomatic gall bladder stone then even there is no need to go ahead with surgery. But if this is symptomatic gall bladder stone then get it removed as soon as possible. We do it with laparoscopic approach and hardly you need one day of hospital stay. And total 2-3 days moderate rest. You can do your household job from very next day of surgery.
