Hello Doctors, Good Evening. Kindly let me know the symptoms of IBS? And where exactly is the pain felt. Also pls let me know is the colon located on the left side? Any suggestion is highly appreciated. I am asking this for my Father. Due to lockdown I can't take him to a good Gastrointestinal Doctor. I googled the symptoms but Google says Cancer And Cancer..misleading. My Dad said he was confirmed at the age of 60 that he had IBS.. I don't know how he confirmed. He is 72 approx now. Regards

IBS symptoms are abdominal pain mild to moderate intensity generalized all over, pain may related to food intake or passage of motion.Patient may have Constipation or loose motions or alternating Constipation/diarrhea. Colon is situated on left side also , it is inverted U shaped organ with length of 150 cm To rule out colonic cancer ask for Blood in stools, mucous in stool ,as well as recent change in bowel habits may guide u , ask for weight loss and decreased appetite.
