Hi I understand ur problem. Insomnia is very distressing conditions...its due increased level of cortisol hormone...due to which person becomes more sensitive & alert. It affects both qualities & quantity of sleep.cant sleep when want to sleep. Causes may be lungs disease, psychiatric disease, stimulant like coffee tea,depressants like alcohol, or stress like work ,relationships,job shift .

prevention good sleep hygiene same time daily to sleep &awake,avoid day time sleep nap,don't sleep hungry.

don't drink coffee tea & smoking at evening.
