Hi,
I am a mother of 1 year old who is breastfed . she prefers one of my breasts over other. The one she rejects has become smaller than the other. Is it normal? Do I need to see a doctor?
At times i have mild pain in arm pits too.Should I get myself checked for any lumps or for any other underlying disease?

Dear , don't worry
But u need to consult doctor
There are two possibilities ,one baby is rejecting so milk is getting accumulated so it may swell and get infected may be because of that armpit ,lymph node swelling ,
second thing because of infection may be milk is not getting baby ,sometimes in beast loculations so baby not able to suck ,
Other thing physiological no use of that breast so may be got shrunken so u need to consult doctor to fine out exact cause ,then treatment if required .
Next Steps
consult gynecologist or general physician

during lactation physiological hypertrophy of breast takes place for production of milk...
It is due to increased size and number of milk producing glands...
You told baby not takes other breast which becomes small its natural that breast will not produce much milk so size becomes small....
