Is met xl 12.5 blood pressure medication
Hi, My husband 33yrs old had slight bp and pulse above 100..3 days back. Doctor prescribed him met xl 12.5 for the pulse. But on Google it is shown as a bp medication. We don't want to start bp medication so soon as his bp was only around 149. Any suggestions?

Please follow doctor advise, it is both for bp and for high heart rates. Do not take self decision, it can be harmful

Hello, Met xl is for both high heart rate and high bp. 12.5 is a low dose as such. And 149 is quite high bp. So i think you should follow the doctor’s advice and not to focus on stopping medicines rather focus on getting his bp and heart rate under control Take care
