My little girl is about to hit 6months and weight 8.9kgs. I usually get questions about her weight that she is too big. Exclusively breastfeeding.
My worry is that weight okay?

You have been exclusively breast feeding and so nothing to worry even though weight is slightly more on the higher side . At times it is found the weight of breast fed babies are higher than average for the age . Because the baby is now 6 months old breast milk alone will not be sufficient to meet all the nutritional needs especially the requirements for iron . So you have to start weaning foods three times in a day and continue breast feeding till 2 years of age . Start one weaning food at a time and slowly increase its quantity.
The weight of babies should be double of birth weight at 5 months and triple at 1 year of age.
Anything grossly deviant from this should be a matter of concern.
At this age, give 1 solid meal,1 top formula feed and 4 breastfeeds a day,NOT more.
