I did pap smear 6 months ago.. D result came normal.. But my boy frd is insisting me to do hpv.. is tat necessary.. kindly advice me.. His doctor prescribed him medicines for herpes.. I took the test before 7 months n 4 me it came normal.. is tat possible to find herpes through a blood test.. These are the medicines that doctor prescribed for my boy friend..so I would like to know wat that medicines are used for...

Yes possible to diagnose through laboratory tests. Pap smear is done to screen for cervical cancer. HPV is etiology agent in carcinoma of cervix. Medicine prescribed are anti viral drugs.

Next Steps

Repeat Pap smear at interval of 6 months. Use condoms during intercourse.
