IUI success rate is around 25%. Atleast 6 IUI should be tried then one can go for IVF. Egg retrieval is done under anaesthesia.

IUI has higher conception rate than the natural method. Three consecutive cycles of IUI have success rate of 10 to 15% as compared to the natural method in which success rate is 7%.In lUI, the cervical factors of infertility are overcome as the cervix is bypassed and the processed semen is directly injected into the uterine cavity thus improving the chances of conception.The egg retrieval process is done under short GA with the help of ultrasound and is not painful for the patient.
