Jaw lateral movement mentioned by you is normal. But if you are experiencing any pain and difficulty in mouth opening then you need to be worried.
Next Steps
Since you have not mentioned the duration or start of your braces treatment and judging by the photo you still have a long way before completion.
Health Tips
Orthodontic treatment would generally take time. Since your orthodontist is monitoring your progress, I am sure all queries would be taken care.

Dear mam..you are on brace so tooth are on constant movement..but lateral movement of jaw is bit awakward during the course of treatment.please check self a cross bite is not released it seems.please shoot 2relevant xray 1a full.mouth one called OPG and another focus mastoid and TMJ lateral xray both side. Then consult the dentist treating and re orient the brace again and explain the problem.to them.re correction of brace will eradicate the same.but please do post both xray if any abnormal is visible then can be suggested to go a bite correction by  Prosthodontist along with ur treatment of brace. Now important is good sleep and to feel selfrelax, from any work stressed if at any.
