Just had 4 wisdom teeth removed
Just had all wisdoms removed. I want to know how to prevent dry socket, how I'll know if I have it, and if I do get it, what are some great at-home remedies that can sooth my pain before I get back to the doctor (I have a check up with my surgeon in 2-weeks). Also, tips on how to keep my surgical site clean would be really great. I am already running salt water in my mouth (no spitting) is it safe to use peroxide too? What about brushing my teeth? Thanks you for your time. Really appreciate it.

1. Bite firmly on the gauze pads covering each extraction site for atleast 30 min to help stop the bleeding 2. Do not rinse vigorously, suck on straws, smoke, drink alcohol or brush teeth next to the extraction site for 48 hours. 3. Do not forget to take the medicines as prescribed by the doctor. 4. If possible chew on the opposite side of your extraction site. Drink lots of liquids and eat soft, nutritious foods. Strictly avoid hard, hot food & drinks for first 24 hours. 5.Avoid excessive mouth opening, yawning, spitting etc 6. If bleeding continues, call your dentist.
Next Steps

Try not to disturb the surgical area with your tongue or finger. Take care of your oral hygiene by brushing the remaining teeth and rinsing your mouth with warm saline or the prescribed mouthwash. It is recommended to avoid rinsing in the first 24 hrs post surgery. Take all your medications as prescribed . Take a wholesome diet and drink plenty of water. Also take complete rest for 48 hrs. If you follow these instructions, chances for developing dry socket are minimal. All the best.
Health Tips
I won't recommend peroxide mouthwash at this stage.
