In a female patient with stage 3 CKD, what is the significance of an ultrasound showing cortical parenchymal thinning and atrophy of the left kidney. Measuring 9.3 Bladder appearing unremarkable for the degree of distention. There is no hydronephrosis

It shows renal parenchyma is thin and not functioning... suggesting medical renal disease as there is no Hydronephrosis...
