Kidney function
Hello Doctors, Greetings. I am asking a very stupid question. Does urinary bladder and kidney(nephrons) heal on their own...? Also if a person has taken too much antibiotics in his or her life.. What percentage of kidneys are damaged. I am about to appear for my second round of written test for John Hopkins Medical College. I cleared the first written. Now I have these few questions to which I seek clarity. And little input is appreciated . Thanks for your services

Minor damages to bladder mucosa heal. If damage is severe healing will be by fibrosis. Renal damage , if minor may heal. Some antibiotics damage kidney, for example aminoglycosides. To what extent kidney is damaged can't be predicted. Nephrologists and infectious diseases specialist may elaborate more on this issue.
