Stone stuck in the ureter may or may not cause pain
By obstruction to urinary passage ,back pressure may potentially cause functional derangement in the affected kidney, infection may also intervene in obstruction settings.
Get evaluation done by a functional study like IVP or CT Urography to look for degree of obstruction and functional derangement.
