Hi Doctor,
Accedentally my left hand 4 fingers upper layer got burned due to hot oil. It's been a week. I am going to hospital for dressing.
Doctor has suggested for collagen dressing.
Would like to know
Difference between collagen dressing and normal dressing
Cost of collagen dressing for upper layer of skin of four fingers.
How many days it will take for the burnt to be cured and get normal skin as before for collagen dressing.
Any side effects for collagen dressing
Any Food to be taken care during collagen dressing.

U hve first degree burn..Normal dressing would be sufficient...Take high protein diet..

Hi! According to your question I came to know that you are suffering from post oil burn in left hand. So chances of contractures are more. Collagen dressing will definitely allow your hand to heal faster. On cost I can't comment as different brands are available. Burn wounds will always take time to heal which totally depends on your body healing power . It varies from 1 month to 3 month. Collagen dressing will reduce this time as it extra external measure to help your body to heal it faster.

And also no restrictions to any food

Collagen dressings are better than the routine dressings, but should only be done over non-infected wound otherwise it will be a waste.
Secondly, they are slightly costly than routine dressings.
If the burnt area is already showing some healing, you can continue with routine dressings (use ointment megaheal). Else if the burnt area is showing slow healing and still is not infected you can go for collagen dressing.
No special diet restrictions needed.

Well collagen dressing before going to that
First thing that to be done following burn is thorough wash with tap water for 30mins
Second to visit doctor
Now coming to collagen dressing it’s good
Advantages are no need for repeated dressing once applied it automatically peels of once it’s healed
Less chance of contractures following healing
Disadvantages- costly and if infected it doesn’t work
You are saying it’s been a week so if it’s not infected it’s good to have collagen dressing
No side effects and no food care need to be taken
Instead you need good protein diet for faster healing of wound

Normal dressing with ointment would be sufficient. It looks like you are suffering from first degree burn. Just continue dressing, would take around 2 weeks. There is no restrictions on diet.
