I'm not sure what kind of plaster was applied. Usually in an acute scenario a splint is applied and not of full cast. This allows for swelling and the plaster does not become tight. If it's a non-displaced fracture plaster is changed in one week when the swelling subsides Al the plaster becomes loose. If there is excessive swelling in the toes are you not able to move the toes you may as well get it checked again by an orthopedic surgeon. If passive movement of toes increases the pain that could also be a sign of a tight plaster. So in summary if your pain has increased or remains unchanged after plaster get the plaster checked.
