Knee popping/cracking

Asked for Male, 21 Years

I hurt my knee playing basketball about 2 years ago. It was a non contact injury that put me on crutches for about 5 months. It never swelled up or anything like that. However now Ive been dealing with cracking and popping in my knee since will some dull pain here and there. What could be the problem?
