I was diagnosed with an L5S1 disc prolapse , on query I found that the final solution is a micro discectomy. I would like to know how much is the cost of the procedure. I need a rough estimate not the exact value. Thanks.

L5 S 1 disc prolapse treatment varies with symptoms and neurological structure s involvement..if it has only pain it will be cured by medications and rest..if it has any neurological deficits like weakness, numbness and urinary disturbances it will require surgery..consult a neurologist and follow his advice

If u had made ur mind for surgery than go for it but I would suggest u to go for physiotherapy sessions from a qualified and registered physiotherapist nearby as in most of these types of cases surgeries are avoidable. Know us more at wwwdrrajivmehtacom

Hello there...., 80 or 90% of disc prolapses settle by themselves and their symptoms almost disappear. Typically this process takes 6-8 weeks, but may take longer... If the symptoms do not settle with reasonable conservative treatment, intervention will be recommended. This may include a nerve sheath injection with local anaesthetic or surgery. Surgery has been shown to speed recovery following disc prolapse..... The costs depends upon the hospital setup and the orthopedician charges....
