My father has 95 percent block in LAD confirmed through angiogram. But the viability test (SPECT) confirmed only 25 to 30 percent of myocardium is viable. So they suggested PET CT to check hibernating myocardium which resulted 60 percent of myocardium is hibernating and viable. Can we proceed with revascularization? Which one is best STENT or bypass surgery? Is there any risk involved in doing revascularization? Can we continue with medicines alone as he is stable now?

Medicine is very important before and after procedure but it's not enough in this case
Lucky no pain gives you time but few of left myocardial muscle will die if we don't give blood to it so sitting on it is not a good idea
Than should not have done all scans because now they are telling you to act upon
Single block easily removed by stent takes ten minutes and. 20 years results comparable to bypass . I would get myself cut for no reason
Bypass is optional if stent can't be done or too many blocks.
Next Steps
get stent don't think twice
Health Tips
if pain occurs it's emergency but don't sit on it.
god bless you

100 percnt revascularisation should be done as soon as possible with stenting. It has 1 percnt risk involved, but not doing it has 10 times more risk.!
