some VSD close on their own with increasing age, but this VSD will not close in all probability.
if the child has growth retardation and signs of heart failure( like too fast respiration while crying or feeding, indrawing of ribs while feeding, excessive sweating), then this has to be closed urgently
otherwise one can wait till preschool age and get operation done at 2-4 yrs of age.
but operation is required for sure , only timing can be varied according to symptoms
