Acne scars are structural deformation of the skin. So any treatment that successfully helps with scars needs to enter the skin. The various treatments are derma roller fractional laser and microneedle radio frequency treatment.
Lasers have been used to treat acne scars for last 10 years or more . the most common complications seem to be darkening of the skin. however your dermatologist will sure prime the skin with sunscreen as well as vitamin creams to prevent this. you can also go for a test patch where only one small area is treated and you can do the full treatment at subsequent visits.
look for a dermatologist who offers FDA approved laser technology.
