Left leg feet pain
Hello doctor, I have severe pain in my left foot especially while I press it or if I get up after sitting for a while and in the morning while I wake up. I had visited an Ortho doctor today, he says that I have developed flat foot. An X Ray was taken for both my legs and everything was fine but somehow I'm not very convinced with the treatment. He has given me two medicines to take for one week. 1. ETOSHINE 2. PANTORICH 40 mg He has even suggested some physio and MCP FOOTWEAR. But I was not examined thoroughly except for the fact that he asked me to tip toe once. Can someone suggest if I need to change the doctor or continue his medicines? I haven't started the physio yet. hi this is Dr hitin Mathur, foot and ankle and joint replacement surgeon practicing in Delhi NCR. A thorough examination of a foot and ankle region will be needed to evaluate the flat foot. X rays of both feet AP lateral  views and both ankles AP view in weight bearing position will be needed. Some blood tests to rule out other causes of foot pain may also be needed. Correction of your foot arch may involve use of insoles in the foot wear, if the deformity is mild with Limited arthritis. If the deformities severe with severe arthritis surgery may be required.

• Short Arcs: Lie flat on your back or sit upright with your leg placed horizontally on a flat surface like a chair or bed. Place a rolled up towel under the knee. Pull your toes towards you and clench you thigh muscles. Slowly lift your foot up off the bed until your knee is straight (keep your knee resting on the towel). Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower them on the chair. Repeat 10 times twice a day. • Straight Leg Raise: Lie flat on your back. One leg and knee will be straight and other leg should be bent. Pull your toes towards you and tighten/clench the muscle on the front of the thigh, locking your knee straight. Lift your foot up in the air, about 6 inches off the bed. Hold for 3 secs and slowly lower the leg. The knee must remain straight the whole time you are doing this exercise.
