A few years ago, I accidentally took isotretinoin 20mg for more than 7-8 months without a break, which resulted in a high level of
alkaline phosphatase in my LFTs. It's been about 2 years since I stopped taking any kind of drug, but the problem persists. I get my LFTs done every 3 months, and mostly they are in the normal range. However, my gut is not able to break down food, resulting in difficulty gaining body weight. Although I don't often feel bloated, sometimes I do. I also feel hungry and eat a lot, but since the isotretinoin incident, I've never regained my real weight, which is 64kg. I am not able to weigh more than 56-57kg. Recently, I got a fibroscan done, which showed a median of 5.9 and a mean of 220. Despite undergoing various tests from ultrasound to blood tests to endoscopy, everything came out normal except for the fibroscan, and I think that could be the reason my
liver is not producing enzymes to break down food? Do i have to use new drug "Resmetirom"
