Loose motion in 9 month baby boy
He was vomoting 4 days before then i visited doctor and he told my son is suffering from gasteoritis and he ll be cured. After giving medicine he started loose motion, which also continued for 2 days ...3rd day no motion at all and from yesterday onwards he is doing watery stools.. And today stool is not stopping.. Please suggest.

It is gastro enteritis probably viral infection, give plenty of fluid orally , start with PRE pro biotic like econorm sachet 1 bd for 3 days, ors, zn 20 drops 1 ml od for 14 days. Stop milk and milk products like tea coffee ice cream
Next Steps
Look for signs of dehydration like lethargy weakness not taking orally properly sunken eye balls

Hydrate well Give ORS (75-100ml/loose stool) Give normal diet / continue breast feeding See urine output- good urine output means good hydration Observe for danger signs 1)Blood in stools 2) less urine output 3) frequent vomiting 4) Lethargy In case any of the danger signs are present need to visit the doctor urgently Otherwise can be managed at house with ORS (about75-100ml/loose stool) and plenty of liquids Loose stools will take some time / days to stop.. not to worry much if there are no danger signs
