Low grade fever
With all due respect to all doctors out there, I have put out free questions and taken paid consultations in the past 3 days. But not a single doctor wants to give more than a minute of their time.I had low grade fever of 99.5-99.8 which went away, but I was stil feeling feverish. My palms are burning, my ears are feeling hot, I want to take a cold water bath all the time. Now my temp at the max is 99 but I feel warm from inside. When I took a paid consultation twice , doctor prescribed Zedocef CV for 5 days. I asked the reason atleast 4-5 times but to no avail. Please understand, this maybe nothing to you but the patient is scared as hell. Please let the patient know the reason at least.

A few questions... 1)how many days has it been since you are feeling this way? 2) do you have this during any specific time of the day or the whole day? 3)Do you have any associated cough, sore throat, burning during urination or loose stools or constipation? 4) Do you have any recent history of change in food or water? 5) did you have any similar problem before?

Don't be anxious. Stop checking in temperature unless you feel feverish... Fever by definition is having temperature above 100.4F or more than 100. So don't worry.... And body temperature also changes/increases from morning to evening... Most commonly it's physiological... Unless you have other symptoms as well you need not worry... If you still feel you have fever/body pains you may take paracetamol as and when required in max  of 15mg/kg per dose not to exceed 4 times a day when required... Else stay calm and take plenty of fluids. Take care. .

Hi.. My name is Dr. Anil Jain. I don't know with whom you have had the consultation, so I won't talk about that. I'm sorry for the kind of experience you have had. Now, moving along. A oral temperature of about 99.6-99.8 is not even considered fever. Is it's more than that I would just want you to take a paracetamol twice a day after food and measure your temperature thrice a day and keep a chart. There are plenty of reasons of "feeling feverish" but not having fever. Sometimes a infection could be there for which you would be prescribed antibiotics. Few other causes would be : thyroid disorders, inadequate hydration, anemia, vitamin b12,d3 deficiency etc. Or it could just be stress that's causing it. Need a proper history and need to run a few tests to know what exactly. Stay well hydrated, take paracetamol, take rest, maintain a proper temperature chart. Let me know if the temperature increases or you develop any new symptom or anything else changes. Regards. Dr. Anil Jain.
