Lump in throat
Hi Sir/Madam, I am having a small lump in my left throat below the chin. I have consuted with ENT specialist and he was suspecting that it could be a swollen lymph node. First he gave me some antibiotics but it was unable to make any difference so he asked me to do a USG of neck. Today I got my USG result and everything is normal and in the report it is written that "no lymphadenopathy identified". So what that lump could be and what should I do next ? I have multiple lipoma in my body so can it be a lipoma and if it is a lipoma then is there any test to confirm that ? Any suggestions wil be great. Thanks Monojit

Ultrasound of the neck is not sensitive enough to identify smaller sized lymph nodes and can miss sometimes. It can be small lipoma too. Only test to confirm the diagnosis is fine needle aspiration cytology of the swelling
Next Steps
Consult nearby ENT specialist for confirmation of diagnosis and appropriate treatment if required
