What you have described seems like it is a pleasurable experience for you when it happens but then you end up wasting time. In common parlance it will be called daydreaming or fantasising. It could indicate you trying to escape in your mind from reality, a psychological defence mechanism called dissociation.
Next Steps
See a psychologist who can help you understand the reason for this defence mechanism to be operating. They can also teach you ways to self soothe in more appropriate ways. Keep taking the meds advised by the psychiatrist.
Health Tips
Mindfulness exercises can help keep your mind on the here and now.
