Metatarsal fracture recovery
I suffered from fracture base at 5th metatarsal in January 1st week. And my leg in plaster for 4 weeks. After removing cast on 31 jan 18 , i started walking in next week. But now still have little bit pain while walking( long distance). Also some swelling appear on feet at evening, but its normal at morning( no swelling). Doctor given some exercise . Please suggest how long this pain & swelling remain??

it is normal to have swelling for up to 6 months. check with your doctor whether fracture is healed.

5th metatarsal fracture needs 6 weeks of immobilisation, so just take rest for 2 more weeks. If you walk on a uniting fracture, swelling and pain may persist. Along with difficulties in fracture union.
