Hello Doctors.
Greetings. Hope you all are good. My question is now a days majority of people in their 30's are diagnosed with Mitral Valve Prolapse. I want to know why? And is it an abnormal finding in an 2D echo. How fatal it is? I googled up it says the person dies within a year.
Thnx

Hi, mitral valve prolapse without any other symptoms or valve leakage is nothing to worry. Usually if mitral regurgitation is severe then surgery may be needed.
