Hello Practo User, As per the reports, your mother is having severe degeneration (Wear and tear -age related). This happens to many people as they grow older. It cannot be reversed by any medicine or surgery. The problem is nerve compression due to degeneration of back bones,so you need to modify her lifestyle and adopt methods to reduce pressure on nerves. Immediately let her take  complete bed rest for 3 weeks. Correct her posture. She can use a Lumbosacral Belt. Don't sit for long time. Don't bend forwards. Surgery is the last option. Physiotherapy should not be done when there is lot of pain. Regards.
