Is ranula /mucocele surgery necessary if there is no pain or any other symptoms.mine just shrinks and refills.going under knife really necessary?

It's a pathological condition. It may get infected often. I think you should go for surgery.

It depends upon the clinical presentation. Where is it located? Is it in line of occlusion where it can get more injury? How big is the lesion? How often is it appearing?
