My daughters height
My daughter is durning 13 next month and I'm worried about her growth. She's 116.6 and her height is 5'1 and she's only grown and inch last time we went to the doctors she was 5'0. I'm 5'9 and my husband is 5'8. We don't have many short people on my side of the family only about 4 and their all around 4'11-5'5. My husbands side is about anything from 5'8-6'0. And my side is from 5'7-5'10. She has come to me for help cause she's been picked on at school because of her height and has rude nicknames. She says she feels very un satisfied and less confident. My parents are 5'0 and my dad is 5'10. But both of my husbands parents are 5'6. Is there any way you could help out and give me advice to help boost her growth spirt or maybe even try to guess her height range?

Do not worry about height of your child.. your child will easily cross your height. on an average children gain around 5cm of height every year.. We can predict height of children on basis of parents height; by calculating Mid Parental Height (MPH)= (father height (cm) + mother height (in cm) -13) divided by 2. We can plot MPH on growth charts and guess a rough height which child will acheive. 14-16 year is the time when children gain significant height and she can easily outgrow her peers. I feel, you need to focus more on developing self esteem of your child and focus on how to deal with bullying among children. You need to develop self confidence of your child. ( rather than worry about height,,,, good height will never guarantee that bullying by peer group will stop). there are so many great achievers in every sphere of field who are great but there height was smaller than their peers. eg. Tendulkar in cricket to messi in football. read on the link below to know how to deal with bullying. http://mayaclinic.in/patient-education/how-to-stop-bullying-in-children/
