Navel area
Hi, my Little one is 1.5month old and her navel area was getting healed day be day. But today I observed reddish skin came out as in attachment. is this ok? Should i do something for this?

This is called umbilical granuloma caused by overgrowth of the tissue at base of umbilical cord.
The accepted and very easy home based treatment is,clean the area vigorously with ear bud dipped in spirit twice a day and apply common table salt on a small tissue paper for 10-15 mins twice a day.
It should heal in 7 days,if not,consult your paediatrician for further management,which involves chemical cattery with silver iodide
