Need advice on hypothyroidism
I'm 8 weeks pregnant and just found out I have an underactive thyroid (a blood test revealed TSH reading of 3.09, which is way outside the normal range). Should I be worried? What medication should I take to lower that number? Please advise. Thanks

I dont think that you need any thyroid medication right now. You can just monitor it after 6 weeks and take dietary control fir the same. There is nothing to be worried about right now as far as thyroid is concerned. Moreover it has to be correlated with FT3 and FT4 values as well

3.09 is not way outside the range. It’s borderline. You will need a low dose supplement. Don’t take it yourself. Meet your gynaecologist and have it prescribed
