Previous History She had the similar issues earlier as well at the age of 14 and 19 and was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder . Maniac episode also lasted for around more than 6 month. Last year we were feeling that she is having a maniac epsiode but that was bearable .She was excited slightly but that was not harmful for her nor the society. Medicines which she was taking at age of 19 was quitipin and mazetol Problem Now she is taking 5mg of Depran but she has not recovered a bit. she feels lazy with body pain and headache till afternoon but during evenings she is better and continue her daily activities. Doctor recommended to stop Depran and wait for a week and if she still feel unwell , admit her to hospital. Please help what we can do know? Thanks in advance.

Hi, anyone who has experienced a manic episode in the past has to use a mood stabilizing medicine along with an antidepressant like depran in order to manage the problem. A more detailed history regarding her symptoms and past has to be elicited to gain complete insight into her condition. Make sure she has recieved adequate treatment for adequate period of time before committing about admitting her in a hospital, unless there are severe symptoms that warrant an immediate admission.
Next Steps
Consult a psychiatrist to review the medications
Health Tips
Be cautious if she is harming herself or others. Make sure she maintains adequate food and fluid intake. Supervise her medications and observe her closely at all times.
