Need information about Inj.orofer
Hi Doctor, My mother's report shows her urea-82, creatinine-3.9 ,uric acid-7.2 , Hb- 7.7. For low Hb she's recommended Inj.Orofer( Ferric Carboxymaltose Injection) . She is been advised for no salt intake in her diet & to stay hyderated . My concern is that Orofer injection will be given through drip mixed in saline solution. Will it be safe ? I hope the content of saline solution of injection will not harm her as she is been advised not to take salt as it can effect kidney function. So pls guide whether she should take this injection for low Hb or not ?

Inj FCM is very much essential for her to increase Hb. It is given in 100ml of 0.9N saline which will give her 15mEq of sodium. Benefit of giving this injection far outweighs the sodium load. So no worries.
