Nerves radiating from tooth to ear, head
I had a mild pain in my upper tooth, next to wisdom tooth. I went to dentist and he took an X ray and mentioned that there is a slight decay present in the middle of two tooth. His assistant has performed localized cleaning at that place. My pain has aggravated after that . I feel my tooth nerves are radiating towards Jaw , ears and Head. Would it happen in case if cleaning is not done handled properly?

Your treatment was not completed
Only scaling was done, and sometimes this aggravates pain due to exposure of underlying Dentin or even the carious lesion. Please get your treatment completed. It depends on the x-ray findings. It would be better if you attach x-ray.

Firstly....cleaning is not the treatment for a cavity between two teeth.
Secondly pain increasing after cleaning is just a coincidence
Cleaning is for your good....after all it is doing good to you. So don't have that misconception.
You may need wisdom tooth removal followed by root canal treatment in the adjacent tooth.
If I could see a picture of the tooth....could have suggested you much better

Please identify if you are having sensitivity ie the sensation of hot or cold or you are having pain .
if it is sensitivity then yes it could happen because of cleaning as the plaque deposits are removed and the enamel is exposed . If it is pain then it is because the decay is deep and it must be treated to relieve you of the pain . Pain will not be there because of the cleaning.

If the cause is due to wisdom tooth it’s ideal to get it removed and if the problem is in the next tooth better to get a root canal done . But clinical examination is a must .
