I had normal delivery with epidural aftee 6 cm dialation...post delivery doc told she had made a cut and will put stich in 3 layer...she had done episiotomy....normally how many stiches will be there post delivery ??? Is my pain is more due to episiotomy?'

Episiotomy sutures dissolve on their own in 2 weeks time . episiotomy is needed in almost all of the cases specially first deliveries ..you would have been prescribed antibiotics and painkillers that will help with the pain ..you can use lignox gel to apply on your stiches.... N if pain is unbearable then you should get your self examined .
