Occlusion and tmj
I had misaligned teeth.... Due to intentional clenching my occlusion has changed completely and my tmj problem was started.. .will splint therapy followed by braces help me to correct my occlusion and tmj problem? Also why do I feel pain when I massage my left sided jaw muscle just below my ear with circular motion by my finger? Can our lower jaw move backwards during braces so that it will increase the space between upper and lower front teeth? Please help me 🙏.

Hi First complete clinical and radiological examination should be done to check for the kind of malalignment aftr that only treatment option can be made.... However occlusal splint  and braces therapy also work for teeth clenching which results in tmj problems... By braces treatment it is not possible to move your teeth backwards.....only the teeth movement is possible by braces treatment...... Jaw movement can be done by orthopedic forces which is possible only during the growth phase of your jaws....concerning your age the jaw movement can be done by only the surgical phase of treatment
Next Steps
kindly visit dentist for further clinical examination and management
