I am a 26 yr old smoker who is planning to get started on oral contraceptive Yasmin. I have no history of heart diseases/ obesity/ diabetes. Is it safe?

For smoker to start oral contraceptive pill is always risky because it leads so many cardiac problem so take the doctor 'advice get done some investigation if all is well then proceed otherwise follow doctor .
