You can distract your mind by focusing on more important things like work, studying, etc.
Try meditating for 15mins daily and getting a hobby will be a much better distraction.

I can empathize with you..but you need to provide more details about your problem..like since when you are having this problem, frequency, how you are distracting yourself, what makes you feel relaxed, your predominant mood, does distracting hurts you more,or the thoughts about someone...
