Your mother's heel pain could be due to Plantar fascitis or calcaneal spur.
How long she is having this pain?
I would suggest her some exercise at home.
Procedure:
Ask her to take two tubs. One should contain hot water(bearable heat) with rock salt. Other tub should be filled with cold water (tap water). She should dip her feet in hot water for two minutes followed by cold water for two minutes. Make sure the water level should be till her ankle height.
Repeat the process for 15 minutes. This should be done twice a day for ten days.
Next Steps
If the pain persists or aggrevates she should consult a Physiotherapist or Orthopaedist for further evaluation and treatment.
Health Tips
Ask her to wear well cushioned insole foot wear with strap support.
Avoid prolonged standing, ask her to take breaks and change position.
