Hello Doctor,
My wife suffers from a severe pain in the heels of both the legs. specially when she gets up in the morning. We have also changes her sandals to relieve some pain but still the pain exist to some extent.

Hot and cold works well to get rid of the pain as mentioned by Dr Goel. Addition to this before getting out of bed move the ankle up and down for say 10 times and through the day make it a point to stretch the calf.

For long term relief from this problem, the entire chain right from the lowback is to be assessed to put her on a concrete exercise program.
