My mother is facing knee pain for past couple of months. After x-ray doctor found that there is a piece of bone or loose body. He said by arthroscopic procedure loose body can be removed but also mentioned that pain may not completely reduce. Can you please suggest what to do. Main problem is heavy pain n swelling in the knee. If not loose body removal atleast we are expecting reduced pain. Please suggest.

Her symptoms are due to osteoarthritis.
Her symptoms might improve with physiotherapy, weight reduction and medications.
If all these fail then the best option for her would be a total knee replacement surgery.
