Pain in the base region of penis
The friend is feeling pain just where the penis is attached to body. When he tried to look for the cause of pain, he felt a small cyst like thing in that area and it is paining extremely bad when touched or is erect or while urinating. Please let me know what could be this and to which doctor should he go for a consultation. Being a boy , he is quite embarrased about this situation and thus I am expecting an honest answer here. Thanks

It could be cyst or abscess. Keep the area clean. Avoid sex till it heals. Can go to nearby general physician. No need to feel shy as anyone can get affected. If abscess then drainage may be needed. Recommended antibiotic is Cephalexin 500 twice a day x 5 day extendable to 7 days along with Vizylac once a day and Nimulid 100 twice a day till pain subsides.
