Pain in Upper jaw.
Getting severe pain in Upper jaw. When consulted oral doctor he advised me to go for root canal even without diagnosing by x ray. Plz advise.

Apart from xray clinical examination showing deep caries with pain on percussion itself is suggestive that the tooth requires root canal treatment. Xray is taken in such cases to confirm the diagnosis if required and the extent of caries.
