Consult ortho doctor. You need an X-ray to rule out fracture. If it is only ligament injury it will take 6 weeks to heal. In the mean time avoid any inversion of ankle. If it is too painful use walker boot.

When was your accident? Go for icing 10-15 mins and ankle range of motion exercises in non weight bearing position. Visit nearby physio for detailed exercise plan.

Firstly get an X ray done. If no bone injury is there, tie an ankle binder for support while walking. Visit orthopedic physiotherapist for fast healing of the tissues. Continue ice packs. Soft tissue healing takes 3 to 6 weeks. Following that strengthening exercises should be included.
