Pancreatitis
Patient felt acute pain in december 2019. Patient remained hospitalized. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis ultrasound and ct scan. On 10/02/2020 she was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis through mrcp. Ca19-9 = 14.52 reference (0 - 39). She was advised to go for operation on 21st march 2020 at dmc ludhiana. But due do corona virus it was decided to postpone it. We could not contact doctor at dmc. So I want to ask how much delay for surgery is permissible? Also patient was given medicine for 1 month till surgery. Main medicine is tab creon 25000. Can patient continue taking the medicine?

Hello, Decision of Surgery of Pancreas for Pancreatitis depends on what are current symptoms or problems? May be she was advised to get cholecystectomy for gall stone induced Pancreatitis. Yes, she should get Cholecystectomy for gall bladder induced Pancreatitis if still not done. Cap Creon is advised only in patients with pancreatic exocrine insufficiency.
